Dear Animal lover
Those stories make us sad and angry:
TOSCA, mother of the famous Polar Bear "Knut" (Berlin Zoo, Germany), gave birth to twin cubs in December 2008. The cubs died cause the mother didn't have enough milk to feed them...
VERA, mother of the famous Polar Bear "Flocke" (Nuernberg Zoo, Germany), gave birth to twin cubs in December 2008. The cubs died, only 2,5 weeks old, of coccidiosis (intestinal parasite). Where did this parasite come from, if not from the mother...
For both of this unhappy mothers a new gestation is planned immediately!
For none of the future cubs is planned, where they go to when they are grown up. The Zoo can't keep them, no Zoo can take them, all Zoos are overfilled already!
AMIRA and PAUL, a lion couple (Berlin Zoo, Germany), had twin cubs 14 month ago. "Moritz" was put to sleep in October 2008, he had a genetic defect. Just now, January 2008, his brother "Max" follwed him for the same reason... Nobody wanted them anyway, too much lions are already in Zoos...
This unhappy mother now will get the pill...for some time... Does that mean this unhappy couple can mate in the future again, regardless of the genetic defect ?
We are asking you
Please stop this cruelty to those poor creatures, give them a brake, don't missuse them as "birth machines"! Allow reproduction only, if the animals are healthy and in good condition and make sure there is a place for the future cubs/adult animals already fixed on paper BEFORE they are born !
RESPECT THE ANIMALS !
