Tell Gillbert Roberts to enforce permanent changes to Alliance Carpet Cushion Cushion, Inc.

Alliance Carpet Cushion, Inc, a branch of Mohawk Industries, has been the source of many problems over the past years. Idling trucks, smells, and the loudness of the factory are just a few of the many problems. For one, the factory is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The factory also was responsible for fires in 2005, 2003, and 2001 that took place in a field behind several houses. Beside these problems, the factory was also responsible for a chemical spill in 2007. And finally, the factory is also responsible for trucks illegally idling all night and day in front of houses. Police did nothing to stop these trucks, despite a law in Connecticut, prohibiting "vehicles of ALL kinds from idling more than 3 minutes". In between all of these problems, the factory also smells at times, and is very loud.
As you may or may not know, this factory poses a health and environmental risk. Mike Thill, plant manager of the factory, did nothing to try to stop the idling trucks, smells, and noises. Please sign this petition and urge Gillbert Roberts, director of Environmental Health at Torrington Area Health District to enforce permanent changes in the way the factory runs.

As you know, Alliance Carpet Cushion has been the target of many complaints over the years, and we believe that you should set new rules for the way the factory runs and operates. Please take action against Alliance Carpet Cushion, and set up new rules for the factory, so it will no longer smell, be loud, and have trucks idle all day and night illegally.Thank you
