Plastic are unavoidable on the ocean floor and on the surface. Tiny crumbs of floating polystyrene is continually mistaken for plankton and small fish. Ingesting these substances is known to cause death either by slowly chocking the turtle or blocking its stomach so it eventually cannot eat.
