1. New York State is community rated.  This means the premium is determined by your zip code.  Your premium is not age, health, gender rated.  Pre-existing is only enforced if you have a lapse in coverage for over 63 days. We have guaranteed issue, no one is denied or can loose the coverage if they pay their premium. NY currently also has 3 public options.

1. MEDICARE

Medicare cost the government $838.00 PLUS $96.40 of which is deducted monthly from enrollee's Social Security , a total of $934.40 with no drug card benefit and only 80% coverage for doctors, no preventative exams and a large hospital deductible. 

 Part A (Hospital) Premium is $443.00

 Part B: (Medical Insurance) Premium is $491.40 ($96.40 of which is deducted                  monthly from enrollee's Social Security)

$443.00 %u2013 Part A Hospital  Paid by Government

$395.00 - Part B Doctors Paid by Government

                        $838.00    Total monthly cost of Medicare Paid by Government

                          $ 96.40      Balance of Part B, paid by enrollee

                            $ 934.40              Total cost of Medicare Monthly

                This $934.40 monthly eventually comes from taxes paid to the Government by the public.  MEDICARE IS A SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC PLAN

We pay taxes our whole life so we can have Medicare benefits when we retire, I don%u2019t want to give away $500,000,000 to the uninsured, call me crazy.

3.       The current government plan for non-postal workers, the one the congressman have, has the same premiums as we are currently paying in New York for small group coverage.

4.      Massachusetts who has mandatory coverage has the highest premiums in the country.

5.      The health insurance company%u2019s profit was 2.2% see Fortune Magazine.

6.      If a small operation cost $30,000 (hospital, surgeon, etc) how many years of premium at $400 a month would it take to cover that one single operation = over 6 years of premium %u2013 unfortunately someone has to pay for it%u2026.this is the cost of care.

7.      Canada income tax is 48%

I am a health insurance broker.  I have been providing health insurance services to my clients for many years.  I am self-employed. I pay my own taxes, pension, and health insurance %u2013 the government workers which you may get to talk to, do not%u2026%u2026..LEGACY Fees!!!!!!!!!! You will get to pay for their health insurance, and retirement.

In closing I want to say I have never been able to sell a health insurance plan without a detailed benefits summary and a quote on the monthly premium%u2026%u2026..Why would you opt for a plan without that information ????????
Before Congress sign a bill we want to see a detailed plan summary and know the premium.
