TSA Forces 95-Year-Old Cancer Patient to Remove Adult Diaper

The TSA in Northwest Florida Regional Airport recently forced a 95-year-old woman in the last stages of leukemia to remove her adult diaper in order to execute an even more invasive pat-down. The woman, who was on her way home to see her family for the last time, then had to travel alone and without underwear on. Her daughter, Jean Weber, missed the last flight she may ever take with her mother due to also being detained.

The TSA has recently increased its practices of arguably reactionary and statistically ineffective measures for attempting to catch airline terrorists. But delaying and then separating a dying woman and her daughter for over an hour in order to examine a soiled adult diaper is taking things too far.

Demand that the head of the TSA John Pistole issue an apology to Jean Weber and her elderly mother.
Dear TSA Head John Pistole,

I am writing to express my outrage at the dehumanizing treatment TSA employees of Northwest Florida Regional Airport offered to Jean Weber and her cancer-stricken 95-year-old mother.

Although I am aware that the TSA highly prioritizes airline security, forcing a 95-year-old woman to travel without underwear and without her companion because of an implied threat is ridiculous and infuriating.

Elderly travelers often find the new airport security measures confusing enough without further degradation. This situation was not handled with adequate discretion or compassion. I urge you to issue an apology on behalf of the TSA and to take further measures to prevent a recurrence of similar issues.
