Volunteer Firefighter Bill 221WSI Act Legislation

WHEREAS The Legislative Assembly Of Ontario has rejected Bill 169, an Act to amend the Workplace Safety and Insurance act, 1997 with respect to firefighters,

We, the undersigned, the Family Members and Friends of the Greater Hamilton Volunteer Firefighters of the amalgameted City of Hamilton, Petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario As Follows:

-That the legislative assembly of Ontario pass Legislation that will extend the prostection of Bill 221 to include the same level of coverage for volunteer firefighters in the amalgamted City of Hamilton and throughout the Province of Ontario;

-That the vital service that volunteer firefighters provide in protecting the lives and properties of citizens be reconized by treating them and their families fairly and with the same respect and rights as their full-time(career) Peers;

-That the Honourable Premier Mcguinty be requested to fund benefits directly assiosiated with Bill 221 for all Firefighters who provide services and protect all Ontarians.
