Only a bold, spirited movement of people like you who refuse to surrender your freedoms can protect our civil liberties here in South Florida! The Las Olas Riverfront Management & City of Ft. Lauderdale have joined forces to eliminate the presence of the African American patron in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. The two have taken steps at assuring there be "NO" venue in the Las Olas Riverfront area that provides services to citizens of a majority AFRICAN AMERICAN audience!
THEIR INJUSTICES:
The management team for the riverfront encourages club owners in the area to stay away from hosting hip/hop, urban,i.e. African American audiences at there venues with threats of closures, fines and/or deal with a certain level of discomfort!
The management team verbally requested that the club oweners & promoters to clean up their crowds. When asked was their definition of cleaning up the crowd, it was stated "Try to get a mixed crowd and it just looks better!"
The City of Ft. Lauderdale police department stated directly to an African American club promoter and owner "The problem is you are dumping a thusand of your people on our streets at 4 o'clock in the morning."
The City of Ft. Lauderdale police department also stated directly to an empoyee, "We're trying to get this type of party and this crowd out of the Las Olas area in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and
KEEP IT OUT!"
OUR QUEST:To fight these injustices of
RACIAL DISCRIMINATION, SEGREGATION and INEQUALITIES head on! To presrve, protect, and defend our Constitutional Rights of Equality!
