Justice for Gemma

Gemma was not just a mini pig, she was family. I brought Gemma home when she was 8 weeks old. She would have turned 10 on October 25th. She was loved, cared for, and part of a home where she was safe.

When Gemma went missing on May 21st, 2026. She had never left our property in nearly 10 years, but somehow that morning when I went out to feed her, she was gone! I searched for her for over 24 hours. I posted everywhere I could, asked for help, and did everything a loving owner would do to bring her family member home.

What I eventually discovered was devastating.

Gemma had been killed, mutilated, and her body was discarded in the woods.

Despite the violent and disturbing nature of this act, the individual(s) responsible have only been charged with petty theft.

This does not reflect the severity of what happened.

Animal cruelty, especially involving intentional harm, mutilation, and improper disposal, is a serious offense under Florida law. Cases like this deserve full investigation and appropriate charges. Failing to do so not only denies justice for Gemma, but also sets a dangerous precedent for how violent acts against animals are treated.

We are calling on the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit to:

* Conduct a full and thorough review of this case
* Evaluate all applicable animal cruelty and related charges
* Pursue charges that accurately reflect the severity of this crime

This is about accountability.
This is about justice.
This is about making sure Gemma’s life mattered.
