School Choice Equality in Ohio

The Ohio EdChoice Scholarship Program provides students in underperforming public schools a chance to receive a better education by providing a scholarship worth up to $5000 towards tuition at a private school of their choice. However, this program is severely flawed. The inequality of the system used to determine which schools may receive this scholarship is not fair and leaves many students at underachieving schools without a chance to receive the financial help necessary to attend a private school. This is a grave injustice to students throughout Ohio. Their freedom of school choice is being deeply hindered.
