Right now the battle for sharks is in full swing. For too long sharks have faced cruel torture and mass slaughter resulting in tens of millions of sharks to disappear each year. Sharks have been around for over 400 Million years shaping our oceans and enabling humans to thrive but now, because of our desire for the Shark Fin, they are facing extinction...
People around the world are waking up and realizing that shark fining and shark fin soup is an outdated and unsustainable practice that ultimately is causing the death of our oceans and thus our planet and only home.
Right now people of Richmond, British Columbia and Canada are demanding that we put a ban on Shark Fin products and allow this crucial species to recover. We no longer have the time to deal with the resistance our governments are supplying and their delays to implement realistic laws that truly protect our oceans.
The time for debate is over. We can no longer wait while our sharks are dying. We must demand our governments to ACT NOW.
We must stop the power that drives the shark fining industry. By cutting off the sale, possession and consumption of all shark products, we eliminate the shark fin trade. Boycott restaurants who sell shark fin and tell their managers why you have chosen not to eat there. Cut off the demand and end the supply!
The city of Toronto has paved the way as the first city in Canada to become Fin Free! FinFree Toronto along with many others including SharkWater's, Rob Stewart, moved their sights to the next BIGGEST consumer, Vancouver. Our Prime Minister Stephen Harper declined to sign the ban saying Canadians had no interest to ban Shark Fin... We must take the momentum Toronto has created and drive it throughout the rest of the Province & Country to show the world we care about our ocean environment and will fight for our worlds sharks!!
Up to 73 MILLION sharks will be killed this year. That's over 10,000 every hour, slaughtered in the cruel, extremely wasteful act of shark fining. Now many shark species are threatened and endangered. Worldwide they have faced a 90% decline. Unfortunately, movies like JAWS has given sharks a dangerous image in society but in reality they are intelligent, majestic creatures that are far more scared of us then we are of them... Can we really blame them

Dear compassionate human being,
The world is slowly waking up and deciding to defend our sharks and raise the voice that they cannot. Thousands of articles, environmental studies and video footage has given more than enough evidence that shark fining is not only extremely cruel and inhumane but extremely wasteful and unsustainable. It is up to us to protect them and once again allow them to thrive and protect the oceans we rely on for survival! Do anything and everything you can to raise awareness and save our sharks once and for all!
