Demand Obama Resign for Hospital Bombing

On October 3, in Kunduz Afghanistan, a US AC-130 Gunship repeatedly bombed a hospital where the non-profit organization, Doctors Without Borders, was operating. The ship struck the hospital for over a half hour, leaving twenty-two civilians dead, including at least twelve staff members and eleven patients, three of which were children, some of which were literally burned alive. 37 were wounded. US General Campbell and President Obama have both acknowledged this was a US airstrike, claiming it was under the false belief that militants had stationed themselves there.

The US would harshly condemn these actions if they were committed by another country, such as Russia, Syria, Iran, of North Korea. We then should not tolerate such crimes when they are committed by our own President. United Nations Head, Ban Ki-moon, has condemned the atrocity, calling for an independent investigation, which the White House has not granted. General Campbell also refused to answer if US forces were close to the scene of the bombing or not.

If any CEO was found to be responsible for such a crime, they would be asked to step down. We should hold the same standard for our President. By demanding his resignation, we set a standard for all future Presidents, and all leaders of the world: that actions made without regard to civilian life will always have consequences, and no amount of power will make you immune to these consequences.

Mr. President, we as concerned citizens of the United States, and the World, demand that you immediately resign from your position as President of the United States of America, for crimes against humanity, and submit to an independent investigation into the bombing of the Kunduz hospital in Afghanistan.
