Men whom are sexually active with other men are told they have to wait one year before donating blood. This comes from old beliefs that gay men are more likely to have various infections that include HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, or C, and several others. This has been proven false many years ago. Canada is usually low on all types of blood during any given moment. Why is this being allowed when there are several men willing to donate blood but are told not to ecause of outdated and scientifically proven inaccurate. Changing the donation policy can help save thousands of lives.
