We started a taxi company in may of 2009 with jim harri's (by-law officer) full and complete approval! We did everything that was required to run a taxi service in colborne!! We purchased all of the vehicles and equipment needed to run the company in a professional manner out of our own pockets without any outside sources out of my hard earned savings!! I opened the company so that i did not have to go on disabilty for a terminal sholder injury!! For the last four months we have provided fast, courtious and honest service to the colborne and the immediate surrondings!! all along the way checking to make sure we have ablided by all the by-laws in cramhe township!! We have been investigated by the cobourg police service and the o.p.p. due to bogus complaints from other taxi companys in the surrounding areas. Wich were found to be false when they checked into the complaints!! Everything was going great untill 4:00 pm on monday, october, 5th. Jim Harris showed up at my residence and informed my daughter that what we were doing was illegal running a buissness out of our home and that it needed to be shut down immediately or that very large fines would occour the following day to myself and my landlords! If we left them on our property or anywhere that is not deemed industrial!! In an industrial area the cheapest area for rent is over $2000 a month which would have given us no choice but to either raise the prices to an unbareable leval or shut the buissness down!! Leaving us no choice but to close the company that saved alot of people worries and reasonable affordable rides!!!
