Justice For Jef Roberts

On February 23, 2009 at approximately 2:00am, Jef Roberts was assaulted outside Machiavelli's Restaurant following a wedding reception. He suffered severe trauma to the head and was in a coma for almost seven days before he died on March 1, 2009. Bristol, Tennessee Police are refusing to charge his assaultor with anything because witnesses for Duc Thach (his family members) said he acted in self-defense, even though other witnesses say Roberts did nothing to provoke the malicious act. We want the District Attorney H. Greeley Wells and Police Chief Blaine Wade to do their job and hold Mr. Thach accountable for his actions. **UPDATE**Autopsy results show cause of death as BLUNT HEAD TRAUMA. This petition was set to end on Sept. 1, 2009 but I have decided to keep it active until Mar. 1, 2010 so more people can learn of this injustice. If there is still activity here I will continue it for as long as I can. There are many great memories of Jef posted here, so maybe this can stand as a tribute to a great man and friend.
