Too many accidents, or near accidents, occur because drivers do not take due care on the roads - especially country lanes where horses are more likely to be being ridden.
We need thousands more of these signs dotted around the countryside to make drivers aware that they may be sharing the road with a horse and its rider.
Lets hope that with Riders always wearing their HI Viz and these Signs to remind drivers to be more cautious, that road accidents involving horses are dramatically reduced.
We the undersigned feel that there should be 'Accompanied Horses or Ponies' signs on in all rural lanes and villages to try to make drivers more cautious when navigating the countryside.
I'm sure to save the councils money, local farmers, landowners and even livery yards would be happy to put the signs in situ if they are provided.
