Request Investigate La Luz Shootout
January 28th, 2009, Fifteen Otero county, New Mexico sheriff vehicles and 20 plus deputies was dispatched to a single family residence to enforce a eviction order issued by a Alamagordo, NM court. A shootout occurred upon their arrival at the residence, resulting in the owner of the residence being shot and the wife arrested the following day. The deputies fired numerous gas cannisters into the home and vehicles, after the owner was killed, his wife blacked out and lay in the toxic fumes, along with the dogs and cats living there, for approximately 18 hours, resulting in neurological damages. She has yet to be indicted or placed on trial. She is presently an inmate in the New Mexico State Grants prison system with no hope of ever being released or put on trial.
New Mexico State Attorney, please start a thorough investigation of the shootout that occurred Jan 28, 2009 at the La Luz family residence. This investigation will determine if appropriate actions by law enforcement personnel was justified. There are many open questions that need to be resolved in the shooting and the incarceration of Inga Gutierrez. Speed is of rapid importance as Ms Gutierrez medical condition is deteriorating rapidly. Thank you for your consideration in this horrible incident.
