Tell North Carolina: Reunite Deported Father and His Three Children!

Felipe Montes was, and continues to be, a dedicated father of three.

However, according to the Allegheny County Child Welfare Department, Montes' three children are safer and more secure in foster care than in the care of their loving father in Mexico.

Montes, who was an undocumented worker in North Carolina for nine years, was deported to Mexico in 2010, leaving his family without their sole source of income.

His wife, Marie Montes, survived on disability checks for just two weeks after Felipe was forced on a plane to Mexico and the Allegheny County Child Welfare Department split her children into two separate foster homes.

The Department of Social Services has stopped all reunification efforts due to their reasoning that Felipe's home is unfit, despite the Mexican Consulate's report that living conditions are good with much family support.

Montes' reputation as a father is no less than pristine according to all those who have witnessed his devotion to his children.

Tell the North Carolina Department of Social Services: Reunite Montes and his three children!

We the undersigned urge you to reunite Felipe Montes with his three children.

Montes has time and time again proven his devotion as a father while a safe and loving home is awaiting his sons in Mexico.

The Social Services Department has given unsupported evidence as to why his sons should not be with him.

The idea that his sons acquire better treatment in foster care rather than in Mexico is preposterous, and quite frankly, racist.

We ask you to please restore the Montes family.

Thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
