Tell Georgia Lawmaker: Women are Not Farm Animals!

Georgia State Representative Terry England compared women to farm animals in an obscure speech delivered in support of a bill that would force women to carry dead fetuses until birth.

The Republican lawmaker used a shocking metaphor of farm animals to show that complications and newborn mortality is natural.

"Life gives us many experiences," England said. "I've had the experience of delivering calves, dead and alive; delivering pigs, dead and alive. It breaks our hearts to see those animals not make it."

This argument is completely deranged, as is the proposed law it supports.

No woman should be forced to continue a pregnancy in which the fetus is not expected to survive.

Women have a choice and a right to decide what happens to their bodies and their pregnancy.

Tell Terry England: Women are not farm animals!

We the undersigned would like to address your statements concerning HB 954 in which you compared women’s pregnancies to that of farm animals.

This blunder did not go unnoticed we urge you to apologize as soon as possible to an audience of women.

Your support of HB 954 is also outrageous. No woman should have to carry out a pregnancy in which the fetus has complications or is dead.

Women should certainly not be forced to endure such a psychologically trauma.

We ask you to retract your support for the discriminatory bill as well.

Thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
