Demand to End the Rezoning Request for Parcel 09010

A formal request has been made to the Greenville Planning and Zoning Commission to rezone 84.533 acres located along the eastern right-of-way of Charles Boulevard and adjacent to Grace Church. This is directly across the street from Tara Condominiums. The County Commissioners are planning to re-visit this topic for the third time, and hold a vote on Thursday, May 4, 2017. If approved, the land will be rezoned for the following tracts:
1 R6: Residential [High Density Multi-family] 26 acres
2 R6S: Residential-Single-family [Medium Density] 12.549 acres
3 R9S: Residential-Single-family [Medium Density] 15.807 acres
4 R15S: Residential-Single-family [Low Density] 21.887 acres
5 O: Office 8.290 acres

As a Tara residents, we are concerned that the amount of traffic on Charles Boulevard will increase greatly and make an already difficult exit out of Tara that much more complicated. There are also concerns of Section 8 Housing being located across the street from Tara, which will affect the property values. There are already student housing facilities throughout Greenville that are A)not at maximum capacity, B)allowing Section 8 to rent a unit, C)filing for bankruptcy.
