END THE DANGEROUS SPEEDING ON BEECHER ST SW

In regards to dangerous and reckless speeding along Beecher Street Sw in the West End Neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia 30310.

Beecher Street Sw is home to WEND community leaders, respected legacy residents and several young families whom walk their children, their dogs and ride bikes along the street to access amenities. Time and time again our community has submitted countless 311 reports and pleaded with city council to implement speed tables (aka speed humps/bumps) to reduce dangerous and reckless speeding along Beecher Street Sw between Lee & Peeples Street. We fear that we'll have a child or pet seriously injured or killed if we cannot reduce the speed of cars hurtling through the neighborhood. Since Beecher Street Sw terminates at Herman J. Russell West End Academy middle school, children walking to and from school are also dangerously at risk from these speeding cars. The speed that cars travel through this neighborhood is illegal and unsafe. The speeding is also destructive to city property as a result of burnouts and damage from crashes, such as the crash in January that involved a critically injured pedestrian at the intersection of Beecher St. and Azalia St.

We would like to request a traffic study to see if Beecher Street SW meets the criteria to install speed tables immediately.
