Dear Athletic Director O'Keefe and Stonehill College, I am writing to you on behalf of the Stonehill College Dance Team as our fate and faith are in your hands. We are a club sport and since 2016 have not been able to utilize Stonehill dormitories for pre-season camp which is a critical component to the start of our season. We are looking for Stonehill College to reconsider this denial and in order to prove this, we are seeking signatures for support. Although we are a club sport, we hold ourselves to the standards of varsity teams. We are not eligible for varsity status due to NCAA, but we are seeking recognition at a level that is consistent with our commitment level and dedication to representing Stonehill. We practice year round and perform at all home football games, basketball games, midnight madness and other on campus events. We want to represent Stonehill at the highest level of professionalism and spirit we know we're capable of. We would like to have access on the dates of August 23rd and 24th to allow us to prepare for the first football game prior to academics beginning, which is a crucial aspect to our teams dynamics for the year. Stonehill Dance Team brings a lot of recognition to the school. We perform the full school year, we raise our own funds, and are asking to have space to train for two additional days before the college opens up to everyone. We are great ambassadors of Stonehill College which we love and will continue to be great ambassadors in the Stonehill tradition.
