New reporting from the New York Times has revealed that Trump is pursuing yet another shady real estate venture with the government of Oman and a Saudi real estate developer closely linked to the authoritarian Saudi monarchy.
Thousands of migrant workers, treated little better than slaves by their Omani taskmasters and earning less than $350 a month, toil in 103 degree heat to build a Trump hotel and a golf course as part of a $4 billion project; Eric Trump himself went to visit the area in February of 2023.

Trump and Jared Kushner cultivated close ties with Oman and Saudi Arabia while they were in the White House, and Kushner has already received a $2 billion investment payout from Saudi Arabia since leaving government. The Trumps have already raked in $5 million from the Oman project.
"This is as blatant as it comes. How and when is he going to sell out U.S. interests? That is the question this creates. It is the kind of corruption our founding fathers most worried about," says Virginia Canter, the chief ethics counsel to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics watchdog group.
