No Crude Oil in Lamy New Mexico

Lamy is roughly 135 years old.  This small village, nestled in a quiet valley, with one road in and out, is peaceful, historic and beautiful.  Plans are already underway to ship and transfer volatile, toxic, foul crude oil into the heart of the village, near the water supply, and several homes. Because there is only one way in and out of town, if a disaster did occur, the residents would be trapped, with no possibility of emergency assistance.  A July accident in Quebec where tankers carrying light crude oil derailed and killed 47 people. Casselton, ND was the most recent casualty in this industry. Please sign this petition and help keep Lamy and its residents safe.
