17-year-old Savannah Dietrich, a Louisville, Kentucky teen, is facing contempt charges, up to 180 days in jail and a $500 fine for tweeting the names of two minor teenagers who sexually assaulted her. The teenage boys had already pleaded guilty to first degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor voyeurism for sexually assaulting Dietrich while she was unconscious, and distributing photos of the episode on the Internet.
Afraid that others had seen the photos of her abuse, she became too embarrassed to go out in public. Dietrich tweeted the boys' names because she was frustrated by a plea bargain and the light sentence they will probably receive next month
Dietrich has already suffered as a result of the boys' abuse, and now she faces a harsher sentence than her abusers. This is not justice. Please sign the petition to urge the Jefferson District Court to drop charges against Savannah Dietrich.
