Make Joni Mitchell Poet Laureate and Dame of the British Empire

If they can award Nobel Prizes to singer / songwriters, they recently picked the wrong one. In order to award her the recognition she richly deserves, the aim of the petition is to ask HM the Queen to consider creating Joni Mitchell - as a Canadian and therefore a citizen of the Commonwealth - Poet Laureate and Dame of the British Empire. As a fan, I 'd like to attempt to redress the injustice she's been done.
