Increase Mental Health Funding in Our Schools
Every Student Deserves Mental Health Support
Right now, a lot of students are struggling with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and trauma. But many schools don’t have enough resources to help. Some schools only have one counselor for hundreds of students, and others don’t have a therapist or social worker at all.
This needs to change.
What We’re Asking For:
We’re asking school leaders and education officials to increase mental health funding by at least 10% starting next school year (2025-2026). The money should go toward:
💚 Hiring more school counselors, social workers, and therapists
💚 Training teachers and staff to better recognize and respond to student mental health needs
💚 Creating private, safe spaces where students can talk to someone they trust
Why This Matters:
Students can’t focus on learning if they’re not okay emotionally. Mental health matters just as much as physical health, and early support can help prevent bigger problems later on. Schools should be places where students feel safe, supported, and heard.
