For a long time now I have felt strongly about the care of our pets. A good percentage of our pets are not taken care of when it involves a trip to the veterinarians office. I believe it is discriminatory against people with low incomes to provide the care needed for their pet's well being. For those who own a pet with lower incomes, you can be sure if a vet trip is needed 9/10 people will not take them due to lack of finances. Does this mean people with lower incomes should not own pets? Certainly not. Neither is it fair for the owner to lose their pet prematurely or to those pets who may be suffering needlessly. My petition to government is to include pets all inclusive with a tax deduction for veterinary care as well as all pet needs; food, doggie daycares, grooming & so on. This will ensure that more of out pets get the care they need & deserve as pets are a vital part of our lives for many reasons. Just think pet insurance could be a thing of the past.
