Take Strain Off The NHS

This petition is to take the strain off of the NHS by setting up an SOS Bus Project.

The SOS Project is a multi-agency initiative to meet the needs of any person in the town at night. It is a first point of contact for those whose well-being is threatened by: inability to get home, illness or injury, emotional distress or other vulnerability.

Our main aim is to provide first aid assistance to reduce the volume of unnecessary trips to A&E in the hope to reduce Accident and Emergency admissions.

By relieving these unnecessary calls and visits we hope this will allow more serious and life threatening conditions to be treated more effectively. We also aim to reduce the volume of 999 calls originating from the town centre by preventing things from escalating and effective management of incidences as they arise.
