Start a General Strike to Protest the Judicial "Reform" Act in Israel.

Whereas the Israeli Knesset is currently debating a bill proposed by the Israeli government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that would make the Israeli Supreme Court powerless to overturn any laws passed by the Knesset,

and whereas the government of Prime Minister Netanyahu and his allies who hold a majority of seats in the Knesset would become all-powerful if this law passes,

and whereas it would mean the end of Israeli democracy and freedom if it does pass.

Therefore, we the undersigned request that Israel's largest and most powerful trade union center, the General Organization of Workers in Israel (Histadrut) stage a general strike of all its members to protest this bill that threatens democracy and human rights in the State of Israel.
