Stop Sending Malaysian Elephants to Japan – They Belong in Their Natural Habitat

Malaysian elephants are being sent to Japan, but this decision raises serious concerns for their welfare. Elephants are naturally adapted to tropical climates like Malaysia, not colder environments such as Japan. The drastic change in weather can cause stress, health problems, and difficulty in adapting.

In addition, elephants are highly social and intelligent animals that require large natural spaces to roam freely. Keeping them in confined environments, far from their natural habitat, can lead to emotional distress and abnormal behaviour.

We strongly urge authorities to reconsider this decision and prioritize the well-being of these elephants. Instead of relocating them overseas, efforts should focus on protecting their natural habitats in Malaysia and improving conservation programs locally.

These elephants deserve to live safely and comfortably in an environment that suits their physical and emotional needs.
