Tell Trump: “Stop Making 9/11 About You”

Twenty-five years ago, firefighters ran into burning buildings while everyone else ran out. Hundreds never came back. Police officers, court officers and other first responders saved lives, and gave their lives.

And somehow, Donald Trump has spent 25 years trying to make 9/11 about Donald Trump.

The day the towers fell, Trump actually pointed out that HE now had the tallest building in Lower Manhattan. (He didn't.)

He's repeatedly claimed he brought hundreds of his construction workers to Ground Zero to help, a story fact-checkers have been unable to substantiate.

And this week, at an event honoring 9/11 first responders, Trump told another remarkable story: Two firefighters supposedly grabbed him, lifted him off the ground, and ran with him to safety when they feared a nearby building was going to collapse.

Once again, Trump somehow managed to make himself one of the main characters.

Enough.

9/11 produced thousands of genuine heroes. Donald Trump isn't one of them.  Tell Trump: "Stop making 9/11 about yourself. Honor the real heroes."
