Sanford needs a skatepark. We have asked for one for years and years, and it just never seems to happen. As a fellow skateboarder i have to drive 30-60 miles to find a skatepark, just to skateboard at. I recently talked to the mayor downtown, she seemed very enthusiastic about building a skatepark. We even had a spot picked out it is owned by the city, better yet it is right across the street from a cement making company, who said they run extra cement all the time and would be willing to come over and pour it. Last week i asked my dad if he had heard anything back from one of his friends about the skatepark, his friend stated "Oh well that was just talk". To me that is pathetic, i know that a skatepark will cost money and i know that the times now aren't that great but at least show some effort.The city of Sanford hardly has any activities to keep kids out of trouble, this could be something that could give kids something to do, and even change their lives. All i'm asking is for a chance.
