During Hurricane Ike, one of the most popular and successful piers was wiped completely out. The restoration process has rebuilt many of the structures and infrastructures ravaged by the Hurricane but, one structure is said to never be built again.

The San Luis Pass pier had been around for a number of years, and many people share the same memories . The San Luis Pier was prime location for fisherman, and an opportunity to pass the memories from one generation to another.
