Call on San Marcos City Council to join litigation against SB4

We urge the City of San Marcos to take a righteous stand against Senate Bill 4: misguided legislation that makes Texas less safe by eroding trust between law enforcement agencies and the community. Specifically, we call on Mayor John Thomaides and the City Council of San Marcos to join lawsuits filed by El Paso, Austin, San Antonio, El Cenizo, Hidalgo County and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) -- and reportedly soon Dallas, among a growing list of communities of conscience -- to reject this unconstitutional, unfunded mandate denounced by state law enforcement organizations, religious leaders, business groups as well as human rights advocates.
