Protect Active Duty Pay & Funding during Government Shutdown

No pay = indentured servitude. You tell Soldiers they will get their back pay eventually, but the mortgage company doesn't care. The grocery stores do not accept IOU's from Soldiers, banks could care less. Honor and duty do not put food on the table nor does it pay the bills. We've been lucky so far as the numerous shutdowns have all been resolved quickly, but there will come a time when the politicians in DC will screw everyone over. What do you tell the young Soldiers with a couple kids, a mortgage and a car note after 2 or 3 months of no pay dues? Hasn't happened yet but nothing to stop it from ever happening. A law need to be put into effect to protect active duty during a government shutdown.
