California is a bastion of blue electoral votes, Members of Congress and Veeps, and progressive laws that lead national policy in climate change, gun safety, and social issues. Republicans are using the pandemic – both Newsom's policies to keep Californians alive and get them vaccinated – as an excuse to undermine the strong Democratic values California contributes to this country.
