Talk to Us About Our Roads, Mr. Mayor!

We, the citizens of and drivers through Scranton's Hill Section are fed up not only with the intolerable state of our neighborhood roads, but also, and importantly, with the apparent lack of interest and response from our mayor's office about this quality of life issue with a large economic impact to our residents (in terms of car repairs) and to our businesses (in terms of lost revenue). With Winter upon us, not only are the roads through our home neighborhood that were dug up in the Spring and Summer not properly paved, but the digging is still going on as recently as December 4th!

Residents understand that the utilities doing the digging are responsible to make the repairs, but we look to our city government to represent our interests to the entities involved, rather than have individual residents separately and less effectively manage the problem.  We are grateful for all much needed infrastructure repairs and improvements and commend any business who undertakes them, but the lack of coordination, oversight, and effective communication from the City and the Mayor's office has made a problem where a solution should have been.

We demand that the Mayor communicate to us a plan for resolution that explains clearly when and how our roads will be put back in order and what being put back in order will look like. We further request follow up conversation until we are satisfied that the repaving will be a quality job and we request to see the City of Scranton's plan for oversight and enforcement of the proces
