This Man Nearly Killed His Horse by Doing Something Stupid

For the six years that the hit comedy series Mister Ed graced America's TV screens, viewers saw the show's namesake do some pretty unusual things including talk, but there was one thing they never saw him do: ride in a car.

The reason is obvious. For one, horses don't fit in vehicles, and secondly, of course, it wouldn't be safe. Yet, for one man, his horse's safety didn't seem to be a priority. Not too long ago, Texas motorists saw something they never expected to witness. A man, driving down the freeway with a horse in his flatbed truck!

No, the truck didn't have any special fitting to make this a safe ride for his equine. In fact, it didn't even have a tailgate. The horse just stood up in the back of the truck as the driver went 70 mph down the highway.

One wrong move; one quick turn or swerve; one bump or pothole in the road and the poor horse could have gone flying out of the truck bed, onto the highway and straight into a following passengers front windshield.

Not only would it have been deadly for the horse, it most certainly could have killed other motorists as well.

Now police and the Polk County District Attorney's Office are debating on whether or not to charge the owner with animal cruelty. But what's the debate? The driver put his animal at risk and could have killed any number of people to boot. He should face punishment.

Please sign the petition and tell Polk County District Attorney's Office to charge the driver accordingly.
