Protest the slaughtering of animals in Nepal’s festival

In Bariyarpur, Nepal, every 5 years thousands of animals are slaughtered as part of a 260-year-old ritual at the temple of the Hindu goddess Gadhimai. During the 2009 festival some 250,000 animals were slaughtered. The festival first commences when animals are driven to the brink of starvation, proceeding with the beheading of 10,000 buffalo, with hundreds of men hacking them with dull blades until they are dead. Why is nobody doing anything to end all this bloodshed? We must fight until this archaic, barbaric practice has been once and for all overturned!
