Please sign this petition to stop Gumtree from advertising animals. Animals are at risk of being neglected, cruelly treated, used for dog fighting or abandoned. By providing an advertising outlet, Gumtree encourages people to breed animals for profit despite the shocking resuts of domestic animal overpopulation or to get rid of their animals as if they are unwanted items of clothing. There are many animals of all species urgently needing rescue. Stop Gumtree from putting animals being passed on to potentially dangerous environments.

Allowing animals to be advertised on Gumtree increases their risks of being exposed to neglect, cruelty, dog fighting and also contributes to the overpopulation of domestic animals. Gumtree makes it easy for people to breed animals for profit, or for people to off load their animals to another home without ensuring it is a safe environment.
Please contemplate the negative impacts of facilitating the live trade of animals. We are petitioning you intervene to apply an immediate ban on the advertising of animals on Gumtree.
