Equal Rights Are a Human Right: Medicare

Did you know one in eight Medicare beneficiaries are unable to get medically necessary services? Medicare beneficiaries are limited to a $1,920 benefit allowance for outpatient occupational therapy services in a year. There is also only a $1,920 benefit amount for physical and speech pathology services combined. The passing of this bill would repeal this maximum benefit, allowing Medicare patients access to the care they need to live a more independent and functional life.
What is occupational therapy and why is it important? Occupational therapy is a client-centered practice that promotes quality of life and functional independence through performance of daily living activities.
We are asking for your support in passing “S. 1871 SGR Repeal and Medicare Beneficiary Access Act of 2013.” By improving the reimbursement system and access to patient care, this bill will provide a positive impact on the healthcare system.

Thank you for your support!
