Several political leaders have been caught out by the leaked Panama Papers, and our PM David Cameron is no exception: his late father set up an offshore fund to avoid paying tax, and the fund is still open. Please sign this petition to demand that David Cameron and George Osbourne come clean about their finances, and submit to a transparent investigation - and that the government commit to cracking down on UK-controlled tax havens.
There are strong indications that David Cameron knew about his father's tax avoidance, and was set to benefit from it. Official statements have failed to address the issue. Cameron even took personal steps to protect offshore trusts from EU calls for transparency in 2013, boldly contradicting his sentiments about tax evasion being "immoral". What's more, Chancellor George Osbourne, who has repeatedly defended tightening the national purse strings, has evaded questions about his own finances. Iceland is looking at a snap election in response to their prime minister's involvement. We, too, need to stand up against the injustice!
As the government cuts funding for our health service and schools, for disabled people and the poor, the rich are getting richer. The Panama Papers prove many wealthy people are happy to avoid contributions they could easily afford. It's time we really were ''all in this together''.
