Rwanda: Stop Locking Away People for Being Poor!

  • van: Paige D
  • ontvanger: President Paul Kagame

In Rwanda, authorities are locking up poor people in inhuman "transit centers".

According to the Human Rights Watch:

“Detainees have inadequate food, water, and health care; suffer frequent beatings; and rarely leave their filthy, over crowded rooms”.

People should never be locked away because they are poor.

Not only is the government in Rwanda violating their own laws, they are also violating international law.

Please sign to tell the President of Rwanda to stop locking away people for being poor!

Dear President Paul Kagame,

I strongly urge you to stop locking away people for being poor in Rwanda.  Not only is it violating international law, it is inhuman treatment towards the people in your country.
