Michael Anderson and Jordan Molnar's involvement in the anime conventions Newcon and Anime PDX are toxic to Portland and cosplay community. They have abused the power of their executive positions and must step down.
Michael Anderson is unfit to run and operate any businesses, as he has repeatedly mismanaged company funds for private personal use, has not legally maintained an active business license, defrauded guests of the convention out of their contractually agreed upon payment, continually pitted individuals in the cosplay community against each other, and has been a destructive presence to participants beyond the convention.
Jordan Molnar has harassed and slandered individuals in the cosplay and convention community, indirectly referenced using convention profits for private personal use, and enabled Michael Anderson's unprofessional behavior.
We cannot abide by any additional excuses as to why a convention entering its sixth year continues to run under very serious issues regarding is bookkeeping and financial management, with executives who try to sweep these issues under the proverbial rug through misdirection and deceit. Executives who are unwilling to seriously restructure their financial management in order to correct errors in the operation of their businesses are unfit to lead. We cannot continue to accept empty apologies and promises of revising policies, with no actual change or action by the executives.
A business that is so badly handled must find a new head of convention. Michael Anderson and his associate Jordan Molnar must step down from Newcon and Anime PDX. They must no longer have any access to funds within the convention, have no decision making power, and separate completely from Newcon and Anime PDX.
We must draw a line in the sand and say that we will no longer accept any more excuses about the flagrant mismanagement and abuse coming out of Newcon and Anime PDX, as these issues are tied directly to the behavior of these two executives. The only way for the conventions to recover from the damage they have already endured is for Michael Anderson and Jordan Molnar to completely cut ties and leave Newcon and Anime PDX.
