With this petition we hope to get rid of the horrid atrocity known as “Parkay Squeeze” from the cafeteria. This unwelcomed form of butter is not only chemical filled, but it has an extreme excess amount of fat in it. One tablespoon of this butter has 8g (12% of your daily value) of fat in it, as well as 110mg of Sodium (5% of your daily value) . This already has a bad reputation with the students, as most bread products that are being served in bins on the right or left of the main line are doused in it. This makes the decently healthy food of bread turn into a very unhealthy piece of food to consume. With carbohydrates being at the bottom of the food pyramid (In other words, we need to consume more carbohydrates than anything else daily), it is a disservice to poison the children’s arteries and veins with lipid deposits that are sure to come from eating this product.
At the time of making this, every student asked if they enjoy the butter either have not tried it, or they don’t like it. The butter is very unhealthy, as well as the majority of students don’t like it. With results as shown above, It would be a disservice to continue serving this butter to the community of Cary Academy.
“Parkay Squeeze” is a slap in the face compared to real butter.
