Upgrade National Network Standards to 1GBit/s

According to a recent study developed by Pando Networking, in 22nd of September 2012, the United States of America placed 26th in Internet speed and trafficking out of 26. Several underdevloped contries follow closely behind and few others dominate the higher tiers. As a nation devoted to development and advancement, this marrs the US's credibility. Notably with other telecommunications systems, we lag far behind. What with rising prices and data size standards increasing, one would think that the US would attempt to lead and show by example.

This petition is to not only bring the issue to the attention to those concerned, but maybe perhaps stir things into motion and improve the quality of life of Americans.
