The Vero Beach Florida True Value Hardware store uses a green-winged macaw as decoration in their store. This beautiful macaw - named Marley - is presently an attraction in the center of the Vero Beach True Value Hardware store where he receives no natural light, no normal air temperatures, and does not get 12 hrs of undisturbed sleep, all of which are essential for the health of this intelligent creature. Humans - both staff and shoppers - force the bird to interact, tapping on the non-flight cage and disturbing the avian all day.
Update www.macawrescue.org has graciously offered a forever home in their sanctuary for Marley. Please thank and support them, lets hope Marley's freedom can be attained. He deserves to live in a facility that can correctly care for these avians that have been enslaved by humans for entertainment. Experts stress these avians are NOT companion animals. They are meant to be free and fly in their natural habitat. This is 2015 we can do ALOT better by these avains. Exotics are NOT companions.

Please do the right thing and send Marley to a parrot rescue, where he can live a healthy, peaceful life with people who respect him. He does not belong in the middle of your noisy, air-conditioned store.
