The Problem

St. Olaf (leadership and existing programs) does not provide enough resources for students that are racial minorities on campus

Steps:
Preventative Action

  •  Professional development for all--and specific-- faculty and staff regarding racial diversity, racism in the classroom, etc.

Strategic Recruitment strategies

  • Re-open the position for Multicultural Admissions Counselor

Response

  • Clear policy on racial discrimination/racism and transparent process when racial incidents occur on campus

Workshop

  • Online module for students involving “discussions with diverse others” and racism

Funding

  • Increase funding and review of by-laws for DCC
