Petition to add ASL (AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE) to the Lynbrook School district 20 curriculum

  • van: Sal Franco
  • ontvanger: All school district 20 residents

Currently there are approximately 60 Schools on Long Island that offer ASL (American Sign Language) as part of their educational curriculum, most extending it to their juniors and seniors for College credits. Saving them time and money.

ASL is a  great alternative for students who do not wish to take a traditional language or already speak a language other than english to meet their foreign language requirements.

It has been proven that sign language is a great way for all students, especially the learning and physically disabled to communicate and meet their foreign language requirements in High school as well as in college.
