A case of extreme animal cruelty out of Illinois has absolutely broken our hearts.
Six dogs were thrown away like garbage with signs of horrific, brutal torture.Sign the petition demanding that whoever is responsible be found and prosecuted! In March, township workers in Crete, Illinois, picked up black trash bags from the side of a rural road. Only after they got back to their office did they realize what was inside:
six dead pit bulls. Each one weighed between 45 and 55 pounds -- it took real effort to kill and dispose of these dogs so cruelly. Each one had a life, and maybe a name, before someone decided they were worth nothing.
Investigators say all six showed signs they had been used in fights. Then they were killed brutally, stuffed into bags, and left on the side of the road to be disposed of like trash.
As of the time of this writing,
no one has been arrested.Whoever did this may still have access to other dogs. If these six were used for dogfighting, more animals could be suffering in the same hands right now.
Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow aptly pointed out that people who hurt animals like this rarely stop at animals. Finding the person responsible is the only way to make sure no other dog ends up in a trash bag on the side of the road, and no person becomes the victim of violence.
A full prosecution would send a clear message across Will County. Killing dogs and dumping them like trash will be pursued and punished.
Sign the petition and tell State's Attorney Glasgow and the Crete Police Department to find whoever killed these six dogs and prosecute them fully before another vulnerable dog pays the price!
